A time zone is a geographical region where all clocks are set to the same time. The world is divided into 24 time zones, each one covering roughly 15 degrees of longitude, and they are generally based on the position of the sun in the sky.
We have time zones to help us keep track of time in different parts of the world. Without time zones, it would be very difficult to coordinate activities, schedule meetings, or plan travel across long distances.

Daylight saving time is the practice of setting clocks ahead by one hour during the summer months, in order to make better use of the available daylight. Many countries observe daylight saving time, although the dates and times when the clocks are changed can vary.
